Freediving Instructor Course
The Apnea Total Freediving Instructor course is for those who carry freediving in their hearts and have salt water running through their veins.
It is designed especially for those who want to teach freediving and share the sport around the world safely – and, just as importantly, with a structured method that is both fun and effective.
About the Freediving Instructor course:
The instructor course is built around intensive workshops that develop your knowledge, your ability to teach and explain clearly, and your ability to design effective, professional training – both for your students and for yourself.
During the course you will also practice teaching in the sea, running courses for small groups of students under close supervision and guidance.
The instructor course takes about 4 weeks. The prerequisites are completing the Apnea Total Masters course and assisting an instructor on a Basic course and an Advanced course.
The theory part of the course takes about two weeks. After that, as part of the course, the new instructor teaches under supervision a minimum of 2 Basic courses and 1 Advanced course at our freediving school in Eilat, Freedive Israel.
Our goal in the instructor course is to develop freediving instructors with a high level of diving and teaching experience, and to give them all the knowledge and tools they need for training, teaching and a successful career as independent freediving instructors.
That's why, alongside learning and developing your teaching skills, with us you will also learn how to start a business, market yourself and work as a self-employed instructor – and head out into the world with real teaching experience you won't get anywhere else.
At Freedive Israel in Eilat, we give you all the theoretical tools and the hands-on experience you need to work as a freediving instructor – at Freedive Israel, at any Apnea Total freediving school around the world, or independently, wherever you choose.

Over the first 12 days, you will learn how to teach the theory part of the Basic and Advanced courses.

*Unlike other places, our instructor trainer goes through every lesson and all the content exactly as it should be presented to students,
and instructor candidates receive personal coaching on every presentation they will deliver, so they reach the highest level of readiness before they start teaching.
Water sessions:
There are also 3 water sessions (to be accepted into the instructor course, candidates must meet set in-water performance standards in advance). Through personal coaching, you will learn how to work in the water with students and help them unlock the potential of the marine mammal within them, in the most enjoyable and safest way, according to the standards of the international freediving organization Apnea Total.
Internship:
After teaching the theory lessons, the new instructors gain experience teaching full courses under the full supervision of the I.T. (Instructor Trainer).
Completion of the instructor course requires teaching a minimum of 2 Basic courses and 1 Advanced course, subject to the I.T.'s assessment.
